The finals were held on June 27 at the Yiwu Media Convergence Center. The competition aims to put “New Era Civilization Practice” volunteer services on a more institutionalized and regular footing, and to showcase volunteer work in different fields. Known as the “World’s Capital of Small Commodities,” Yiwu attracts 550,000 visits from foreign buyers annually and has a resident expatriate population of nearly 20,000, forming several international communities. These expatriates have pressing needs in areas such as communication, business operations, social integration, and legal awareness. To meet these needs, the Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College International Volunteer Team was established in 2016, and an international fire volunteer sub-team began activities at the same time. Over the past six years, more than 300 international young people from over 60 countries have joined the team. Marwan is one of its outstanding representatives.
